First you’ll sail to the amazing Azores, calling at two delightful ports of call on two consecutive days. See ruins of centuries-old fortifications; discover the historic Fort of Santa Catarina; and admire the Serra do Cume Mountains in Praia da Vitoria, then cruise onward to Ponta Delgada, from where you can explore Sao Miguel’s stunning rolling landscapes and visit the incredible crater lakes of the Sete Cidades Volcano. Next up is two beautiful destinations in the Cape Verdes, where an abundance of sights and experiences await you. Discover fine colonial architecture lining the pretty streets of Mindelo; and delve into the Portuguese heritage of the Cape Verdes at museums and exhibits in Praia, the capital of the archipelago. En route to Praia you’ll enjoy hours of scenic cruising, including an unforgettable glide past the volcanic island of Fogo at sunrise.
Three sunshine islands in the Canaries are next on the itinerary. Spend a day soaking up the sunshine of Gran Canaria on the sands of Maspalomas during a call to Las Palmas, which also boasts a fantastic mix of Renaissance, Gothic and Neo-Classical architecture, then sail to Santa Cruz, the capital of Tenerife. Take a relaxing stroll through the city’s pretty boulevards and squares; head to the coast to enjoy the sunshine on golden beaches; or take a trip inland to climb to the soaring snow-capped peak of majestic Mount Teide, before heading to Santa Cruz de La Palma. The final port of call is Funchal, the capital of magnificent Madeira. An overnight call here allows you plenty of time to explore the island, so be sure to visit Reid’s Hotel to start your stay with a delightful afternoon tea before taking in the floral scents of the botanical gardens and the superb views from the Cabo Girao sea cliff.
